19th Century Japanese Meiji Imari Porcelain Charger Plate Antique Pottery 12"

A striking Japanese Meiji Imari porcelain charger plate, demonstrating the popular kinrande style with its rich use of underglaze cobalt blue, iron red/orange enamels, and extensive gold accents.

The design is compartmentalised, featuring a central roundel with an orange floral motif surrounded by eight radial panels alternating between a deep, rich blue ground accented with swirling gold work and white ground sections containing vibrant floral sprays in orange and green.

The reverse of the plate is decorated with loose sprig motifs and geometric patterned bands along the outer edge.
