Rare Pair 17th Century Scandinavian Brass Bell Cherub Candlestick Holders 29 cm

A fantastic pair of mid 17th century Scandinavian brass bell candlestick holders.

Featuring a bulbous socket on a boldly turned baluster shaft above a drip tray with large cherub masks and heavy hexagonal bases.

Rare to see these candlesticks even on their own, I was ecstatic to acquire a large pair of high quality.

Difficult to precisely say which country of production within Scandinavia, most sources with similar examples I have seen online seemingly aren't sure either. Going from those which are most alike, I would say they are either Danish or Swedish.

In great condition with expected patination - there are no significant scratches or bad areas of oxidization etc.

Height: 29 cm - Base diameter: 18.5 cm - Weight (each): 3.8 KG
