A magnificent Japanese Meiji porcelain bowl featuring an elegantly scalloped rim masterfully decorated in the classic Imari palette of rich underglaze cobalt blue, vibrant iron red and orange enamels, and gilding.
The interior displays a central design of foliage and pink-accented blossoms, which is framed by striking blue panels separating the main design field. The wide rim area is intricately painted with traditional Japanese motifs, including prunus trees and flowering shrubs along with birds against a white ground.
The exterior is boldly decorated with large, coiling dragons rendered in vivid underglaze blue, accented with red, orange, yellow, and green.
The base bears an underglaze blue square seal mark reading: 肥前有田城岩 "Hizen Arita Shiroiwa"
Diameter: 21 cm - Height: 7 cm
