A Mason's Ironstone platter produced during the Georgian period of England, first quarter of the 19th century, in the sought after 'Grasshopper' pattern.

The pattern features a large peony in the centre of the dish with a curious grasshopper perched on an adjacent leaf. Additional flower sprays around the perimeter create a border and the very edge has string of Eastern-inspired cloud motifs which follow a scalloped rim.

With impressed in one line 'Mason's Patent Ironstone China' used 1813-20 and crown with banner mark first introduced in 1815.

In great overall condition with one hairline crack to rim and some light surface wear.

Dimensions: 42 x 32.75 cm - Height: 5 cm
