A rare Staffordshire figure either of Elizabeth Fry seated with child, or possibly instead representing two of Queen Victoria's children.

Produced by the Alpha factory and may have been produced to commemorate Elizabeth’s passing in 1848.

Elizabeth was a prison reformer, social reformer, and philanthropist who married Joseph Fry, a nephew of the founder of the chocolate factory which later became J. S. Fry & Sons in Bristol, for which the Fry family is famous.

This example is particularly rare as in others of Elizabeth she holds a book - I've not found another with the flowers, or perhaps apples, but have been informed of what is possibly its accompanying piece (view final photo) which is considered to be of Victoria's children.

Height: 19 cm - Length/width: 9.5 x 5.5 cm

In great overall condition with just a few chips to paint.
