A lovely oval platter by Coalport with a chinoiserie pattern flaunting the imari colour palette. Produced during the Georgian period circa 1815.
The decoration is executed in a vibrant colours dominated by cobalt blue, burnt orange, and dark green, with gold accents. The central portion of the platter features a large, highly stylized arrangement of chrysanthemums and other flowering plants emerging from a dark blue vase-like base. The wide, scalloped rim is predominantly deep blue, detailed with a geometric lattice pattern, and includes separate cartouches containing alternating floral motifs and simplified red-orange flower heads.
Dimensions: 27 x 20 x 3 cm
