An early 19th century English porcelain tobacco jar featuring a rich burgundy glaze accented with elaborate gilded scrolling and a hand-painted botanical floral medallion depicting roses, anemones, and forget-me-nots in soft pastel tones.

The cylindrical vessel is designed with tiered cream and gold gilded borders around its base and rim, and it comes complete with its original interior press and exterior dome lid topped with an ornamental finial. Used historically to compact loose tobacco leaves and retain moisture, the piece displays characteristic Regency-era craftsmanship in its refined porcelain form, intricate enamel work, and classical proportions.

Height: 23 cm - Base diameter: 15.5 cm

With restoration to finial, a couple of chips, and a crack to the body.
