Austrian Bohemian Art Nouveau Ceramic Pottery Amphora Vase Julius Dressler
Austrian Bohemian Art Nouveau Ceramic Pottery Amphora Vase Julius Dressler
An amphora vase produced in a light blue glaze with a slightly darker blue glaze drip in areas.
Unusually designed base with an interesting embossed design in the centre of both sides of the body which to me represents a stylized bat.
Elegant curved handles connecting to the lip with motif work beneath where they connect to the body.
A very stylish and unique piece dating from the early 20th century, c.1905.
Has the same incised 'Austria' mark and style of model numbers used by the Julius Dressler manufacturing company of Bohemia, other attributed examples to the company in this manner can be found online.
Small nibble to one of the handles and a chip to the foot.
Height: 13.75" - Across the top: 6.5" - Base diameter: 4.5"
