An Art Deco-era pottery bowl, likely dating from the 1920s or 1930s, featuring a distinctive mottled or drip glaze finish.
The bowl is presented in a quatrefoil or square-with-scalloped-edges shape and is decorated with a large, stylized daisy at the centre. Its glaze is applied in a vibrant, mottled palette, with the central flower petals coloured in shades of blue and yellow/gold, outlined in a darker colour and set against a background of pale pink / lavender. The application of the variegated, textural glaze is characteristic of the decorative Art Pottery movement of the early 20th century, which often overlapped with Art Deco designs and included factories like Beswick or designers such as Clarice Cliff.
Alike in texture, design, and style to Art Deco Beswick bowls but is unmarked.
Max diameter: 24 cm - Height: 6.5 cm 770g
