An Ottoman Empire brass candlestick from the 17th / 18th century featuring heavy hand-cast metalworking construction.

The piece is crafted in multi-part cast brass with a tapered octagonal column, architectural turned rings, and a bulbous candle socket decorated with hand-chased vertical gadrooning. The flared base displays a petal-edged rim, and the underside is stamped with a stylized radiating sunburst motif.

Measuring with classical regional proportions / ratios, the candlestick flaunts a natural patina and has a hand-filed coarse screw thread joining the upper socket to the stem - demonstrating authentic pre-industrial craftsmanship typical of early Ottoman brassware.

Height: 31.5 cm - Base diameter: 8.25 cm
