German Helena Wolfsohn AR Dresden Porcelain Chocolate Cup Saucer Antique 19th C

A 19th century Helena Wolfsohn Dresden porcelain lidded chocolate cup and matching quatrefoil saucer decorated with romantic Watteau style scenes and alternating floral panels against a rich emerald green ground.

The lid is topped with a hand painted rosebud finial whilst the cup features an ornate gilded handle. Both pieces are finished with scalloped edges and gilded scrollwork borders.

The base of each piece is marked with the blue underglaze Augustus Rex monogram used by the Wolfsohn studio.
