This is a large hand-painted Turkish ceramic vase in the Iznik style, featuring an elongated neck and bulbous body.
The design is characterized by dense, scrolling Shah Qalam and Saz-style floral and foliate motifs rendered in a classic Ottoman polychrome palette of vibrant cobalt blue, turquoise, and coral red, set against a highly glossy, opaque black glaze.
High quality but difficult to date, I think early 20th century. Surprisingly it seems Iznik vases with a black background are much less seen online compared to others.
Height: 29.5 cm - Rim diameter: 13 cm - Base diameter: 8.5 cm
With a small chip to the underside rim and a repair on the top but displays very well.
