A striking pair of heavy bronze wall plaques featuring high-relief portrait depictions of Jesus Christ with the crown of thorns and the Virgin Mary in mourning.
Both figures are set against bold geometric sunburst ray halos typical of late 19th century / early 20th century European ecclesiastical design. Central European most likely Polish or German.
Each in great condition with a rich aged patina and highly detailed sculptural depth.
Dimensions: 16.5 x 16.5 cm - Weight: 3 kg
