This 19th century Aesthetic Movement ceramic cabinet plate features a hand-painted scene heavily influenced by Japonisme, displaying a flying bird alongside botanical stems, leaves, and a tiny flying insect set against a celadon crackle-glazed background.
The motif includes stylized gilt and soft-coloured botanical elements framed by a thin gilded rim, exemplifying the refined, nature-inspired decorative arts of the late Victorian era.
Diameter: 23.5 cm
With impressed makers mark I've been unable to decipher.
In great condition with light surface wear - final photo shows another plate from the same set sold at auction.
