This pair of late 19th / turn of the 20th century Spanish Talavera majolica earthenware vases feature twin blue loop handles and hand-painted polychrome decoration over a tin glaze background.

The central body of each urn-shaped vase displays lively scenes of stylized animals, including a bull, a stag, a dog, a seated hare, a long-necked llama-like animal, and wading birds amidst rustic foliage.

Vibrant yellow, cobalt blue, manganese brown, and muted purple geometric bands frame the upper necks and footed bases, showcasing the traditional tin-glazed earthenware craftsmanship characteristic of historic Spanish pottery centres like Talavera de la Reina.

Height: 21 cm

In great condition with some light chips as expected with this type of ware of such an age.
