A delightful Georgian period Staffordshire spill vase figure group dating to around 1820.

Modelled in the form of a hollow tree, which serves as the vase portion for holding 'spills'. It is made of pearlware, a type of earthenware common in the period, distinguished by its subtle bluish-white glaze. The group depicts three sheep or lambs gathered around the base of the tree trunk, amongst a colourful scatter of applied flowers and foliage rendered in green, orange, pink, and blue overglaze enamels. The figure's style and use of four-petaled flowers allow an attribution to the Enoch Wood or Wood & Caldwell factory.

Height: 13 cm - Length/width: 12.5 x 6.5

Displays well but with some chips and loss to the branches.
