A mid 19th century bronze table lamp in the Grand Tour and Grecian Revival tastes decorated with a satyr and maenads in a Bacchanalian procession on a black marble base.

I have found a few other examples of this, crucially a pair bearing the makers mark for the esteemed Miller & Sons of Piccadilly - the final 3 photos are of them.

Miller & Sons of Piccadilly have a family company history that covered most of the 19th century. They are known for their lamps but started off as manufacturing the products needed to fuel the lighting. They are known to have made Argand lamps, Doctor's or Carriage Lamps, Railway, Police, and Students Lamps and had contracts with the Admiralty. They also exhibited at the Great Exhibition of 1851.

Height: 53.5 cm - Base diameter: 15 cm - Weight: 5.15 KG - Bayonet fitting

In great overall condition with minimal wear and light patination.
