Antique Georgian Staffordshire Porcelain Flute Player & Dog Figure Samuel Alcock

This antique Georgian Staffordshire porcelain figure depicts a seated male musician playing a flute accompanied by a seated dog at his side.

Produced around 1830, likely by the Samuel Alcock pottery or a contemporary workshop, the piece is crafted from fine porcelain rather than the more common earthenware of the period. Hand painted with delicate polychrome colours upon a rounded base.

Characteristic of late Georgian and early pre-Victorian Staffordshire craftsmanship, it demonstrates a transition from the naive folk art of earlier salt-glazed stoneware to more sophisticated modelling influenced by continental porcelain styles.
