Rare 18th 19th Century Iron Door Knocker Zoomorphic Bird Antique French Italian

An unusual antique door knocker constructed from iron composed of a fixed base plate with an ornate, cast relief decoration resembling a flower or rosette, and a hinged or articulated ring-shaped element. The arm connecting the ring to the base is intricately cast with a design resembling a bird's head and neck. The overall piece exhibits surface wear, dark metal coloration, and patina consistent with antique iron hardware.

Specific origin is unknown but I purchased it from Switzerland and is likely Western European. I think its 18th century but possible early 19th.
