It is made of pearlware, a type of earthenware common in the period, distinguished by its subtle bluish-white glaze. The group depicts three sheep or lambs gathered around the base of the tree trunk, amongst a colourful scatter of applied flowers and foliage rendered in green, orange, pink, and blue overglaze enamels.
